Read and Discover
After we sold “Betsy” and found Arizona as the state to call home, our next chapter was to discover and explore the world, a journey we had long dreamed of embarking upon. Our goal was to visit the seven continents (which we finally had), to experience diverse cultures, breathtaking landscapes, and to taste unique local cuisines. At our age we chose to travel in comfort, and our mode of travel was by cruising, allowing us to see multiple destinations without the hassle of constant packing and unpacking. We cruised extensively with Viking Cruise Lines, on both river and ocean trips, where we enjoyed luxurious accommodations and enriching onboard experiences that deepened our understanding of the places we visited. We also dabbled with AmaWaterways and Silver Seas, taking advantage of their fantastic itineraries. Viking did not have those itineraries, namely East Africa and the Galapagos. Each journey was filled with new adventures, unforgettable memories, and a profound sense of gratitude for the opportunity to explore the world.
The seventh continent that completed our bucket list tick mark was Antarctica. We were blown away with that white continent, and it was the trip of a lifetime!
