Edmund Babler State Park – Other reviewers at rvparkreviews.com
September, 2014
The Lowe’s overall rating = 9 out of 10 stars
Noise level and overall “feel” of the park?
Nice and quiet, but we were here during the week and were told it
was full on weekends. Our site (#45) was at the end of a cul-de-sac,
and a lot of cars came down the street and turned around – which
was aggravating. The camp host was very friendly.
Road and site access/type?
Paved interior roads and concrete sites. Tree branches were trimmed
back fairly well, although we did scrape a couple lightly.
Spaciousness/levelness of sites?
Sites are spaced well apart. We had to turn our car sideways in front
of the RV to fit on our site.
Utilities and WiFi/cell reception?
Power only, strong 50-amp service.
Picnic table and/or fire pit?
Both. The office sold firewood.
Facilities – bathrooms/showers/laundry room?
Bathrooms and showers were clean, and the showers had benches,
shelves and hooks for toiletries. Nice! No laundry facilities.
Pet and/or kid friendly?
Both.
Bike/walking trails nearby?
Lots of walking and biking trails ran right through and around the
park. We enjoyed them several times.
Grocery stores and other services nearby?
There was a very well-stocked Schnuck’s grocery store 7 miles away.
Other large stores and services were about the same distance away.
Comments:
We loved this state park! It would have been nice if they had provided
water to the sites, but we still enjoyed our stay very much and would
definitely come back if in the area. If you’re into birds, you’ll be
thrilled if you’re here this time of the year – many chickadees,
Cardinals and woodpeckers (including the big Pileated guys) visited
our site every day.
My sister lives 5 minutes from Babler SP. We usually park in their driveway but I would like to stay at Babler sometime.
We don’t give many campgrounds a “9” rating, so you can tell we loved it. And we really lucked out when we picked site #45 – we think it was one of the best in the park for shade and quiet. Nice place! ~Steve
I have been going through your RV Park Reviews Steve, and I noticed there aren’t too many “9”s. That’s why it caught my attention. And, I have spent time at Babler; I just haven’t camped there. I have found some other RV Parks in your reviews that sound good, too.
