Buffalo Point Campground – Other reviewers at rvparkreviews.com
The Lowe’s overall rating = 8 out of 10 stars
Noise level and overall “feel” of the park?
Another great state campground! Very quiet during the week,
this park is far from any main roads. The rangers were friendly
and gave us lots of information about what to do while in the
area (hint: not much besides hiking, biking or canoeing).
Road and site access/type?
Paved interior roads and paved sites.
Spaciousness/levelness of sites?
Sites are spaced generously apart, and ours (#28) was long
enough for the motorhome and car. Unfortunately, many
sites were not level and we needed to do some “fancy jacking”
to get our RV acceptably level.
Utilities and WiFi/cell reception?
Electric and water only, both strong. No cellular reception
at all in our area, even our boosted Verizon signal was zero.
Picnic table and/or fire pit?
Facilities – bathrooms/showers/laundry room?
The showers were old and the pushbutton showers had to be
constantly re-activated – making taking a shower not much fun.
The showers weren’t real clean, and there were no benches to
hold toiletries. I preferred not to use them. No laundry room.
Pet and/or kid friendly?
Plenty of space for pets and kids to run around, but of typical
of state parks there is no pool or other equipment for kids.
Bike/walking trails nearby?
Lots of roads for biking, and plenty of trails. However, we
found that some hiking trails were not well marked and hard
to follow in places.
Grocery stores and other services nearby?
It was almost 25 miles to the nearest grocery store, so bring as
much food with you as you can! Not even sure how far it was to
This is a great place to go for a quiet stay for a few days and do
some hiking or just relax. With no signal for phones or computers,
be prepared to be bored, which was fine with us! We had to drive
almost 10 miles toward Yellville before our Verizon signal came in.
