Elkhart Campground

The Lowe’s overall rating = 8 out of 10 stars

July 2014

A nice campground – well-managed and surprisingly quiet for its size, considering that many RV’s go out for maintenance at the many area garages each week. Elkhart is the RV capital of the U.S., after all! The main interior roads were paved, then gravel to individual site roadways. Roads were well-maintained, as was the rest of the facility. Sites were grass with a good gravel base, and fairly level – no problem getting straight-up with our jacks. The full hookups included 50-amp power that was strong, and good water pressure. Picnic tables resided at most sites, and they would bring one if requested – same with fire pits, although they didn’t seem to be used much here. Spacing between sites was too tight to suit us. Sites were long enough to accommodate a large coach and car. Verizon reception was strong to our phones and amplified Hotspot. I tried the park’s WiFi but didn’t have any luck connecting. Bathrooms and showers were a bit dated, but clean and usable. The laundry room included 6 washers, 6 dryers and a small folding table. There was a walking trail around the campground that we didn’t get a chance to explore. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was a grocery store just a few miles down the road, and other services were not much further. We would gladly come back here again.

Don't be shy, drop us a line.
